Service Description

Rene Duquesnoy, creator of the hiphop improv shows The Beatbox and Rapture, will teach freestyling techniques, short-form rap games (like Rap Line, Beastie Rap, and Audience & Hammer Time) and different effects used in The Beatbox. Learn how to enhance a scene by adding quick hiphop tricks. This class will help longform and shortform improvisers alike. Prerequisite: Must have graduated Improv Level 101 and familiarity with musical improv scenes/games. Day and Time: Tuesday November 26th 6:30-8:30pm Cost: $10 Facilitator: Rene Duquesnoy About Rene: Rene Duquesnoy has been learning, performing, and teaching improv around Chicago since 1999. He teaches beginning improv at Second City Chicago and performs with ComedySportz. Rene loves all forms of improv and specializes in short form and anything hip hop related. Rene hopes you enjoy his class and would love to have a beer afterwards. Little known fact, while in college, Rene worked at a friend's web design company. While working there, he worked on the code for Second City's website. This was back in 1999, and active server pages were a big deal.
